Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week 2026 returned this fall with fearless, fashion-forward drama and a distinct vision rewriting the codes of modern couture on every runway.

Twice a year, the world looks to Italy’s fashion capital for clarity, not just on hemlines and handbags, but on where fashion is headed, emotionally and creatively. This autumn, Milan Fashion Week (February 24 to March 2) felt less like a trend and more like a declaration of a distinct vision, with designers taking on risky feats. They were rewriting heritage, pushing craft into immersive installations and reminding us why Milan remains fashion’s heartbeat.

From archival reinventions to star-studded front rows and Indian icons commanding global attention, here’s every moment that mattered and truly deserves your attention.

Gucci’s New Dawn

If there was one show that defined Milan Fashion Week 2026, it was Gucci’s Fall/ Winter 2026 presentation titled Primavera. Demna Gvasalia, Creative Director, stepped into the house’s legacy with a bold, fresh vision. He honoured the Italian codes while modernising them.

The front row alone read like a star-studded affair: Shawn Mendes, Romeo Beckham, Nicky and Paris Hilton and a dramatically transformed Demi Moore debuting a textured ‘demi-tris bob’. But the runway and the spotlight belonged to Kate Modd, who closed the show in Look 83, a glittering low-back gown revealing a subtle Gucci-logo thong detail.

Indian Spotlight Moments

Alia Bhatt stepped into Gucci’s front row on February 27, arriving in style. As Gucci’s first Indian Global Ambassador, she styled herself in an oversized shimmering black leather coat paired with statement oversized shades, pointed heels and a structured black handbag, finished with delicate pearl studs. The all-black look was restrained yet commanding, iconically Gucci’s style.

Meanwhile, Diana Penty brought quiet power to Tod’s Women’s Fall/ Winter 2026/27 show. Tod’s presentation focused on the concept called ‘Artisanal Intelligence’, highlighting the craftsmanship. Diana wore iconic Look 20 from the brand’s Spring/Summer collection, pairing it with a structured Di Bag Folio and classic slingback shoes. Her fashion choices were deeply in tune with the house’s ethos.

For Indians, these appearances were signals of our presence in the global luxury spaces, with spotlight moments reflected in every look.

Fendi’s Emotional Debut

All eyes were on Fendi this week as Maria Grazia Chiuri unveiled her first collection as the house’s new Creative Officer. The palpable anticipation and guest list reflected this. Industry stalwarts like Uma Thurman, Dakota Fanning, Shailene Woodley, Jessica Alba and Monica Bellucci gathered to witness the shift.

The collection leaned heavily on eroticism and black styles with sensual, razor-sharp tailoring. It was punctuated occasionally by animal print flashes, utilitarian khaki and bursts of yellow. Signature fur outerwear anchored the show, highlighting the house’s heritage.

Diesel Turns Archive Into Immersive Setup

Milan Fashion Week

Diesel’s show felt like stepping into the very DNA of the brand. The venue was filled with approximately 50,000 pieces of archival memorabilia, celebrating the history. The brand’s commitment to upcycling turned aesthetic in this immersive setting.

Musician Rema walked the runway, amplifying the energy. The brand’s showcase was proof of its vision to repurpose the past.

Dolce & Gabbana’s 40-Year Celebration

Milan Fashion Week

Dolce & Gabbana marked four decades in business with unapologetic glamour. The anniversary show was a theatrical delight marked by corsetry, high drama, and silhouettes that leaned into the house’s Mediterranean sensuality.

And the highlight of the show was Madonna’s cameo, celebrating the brand’s longevity.

Bottega Veneta and Max Mara’s Quiet Confidence

Milan Fashion Week

Not every brand’s standout moment screamed for attention. Some brands have their quiet confidence to take the centre stage. Bottega Veneta, under Louise Trotter’s steady direction, presented a collection dedicated to “wondrous collaboration between the heart, the mind and the hand.” With tactile textures, sculptural silhouettes nd signature woven heritage, craft was definitely the hero in this showcase.

Meanwhile, Max Mara reaffirmed its command of outerwear and tailoring with strong shoulders, fluid lines and an earthy palette, proving the power of subtlety in the room.

Emporio Armani’s Powerful Presence

Emproio Armani never fails to deliver a polished personality. Kendall Jenner and Nicholas Galitzine brought cinematic star power to the front row, coinciding with the launch of Emporio Armani’s Power of You fragrance.

The collection stayed true to the brand’s style, featuring sleek tailoring, fluid eveningwear and confidence that feels Milanese.

What set Milan Fashion Week 2026 apart this season was the risk the designers undertook to present their distinct vision rather than boarding the trendy bandwagon. Craft became a performing art as houses rewrote their legacy with new conviction, under a new vision. For Indian audiences, seeing their favourite icons, Alia Bhatt and Diana Penty, being integrated into these global narratives made the week feel closer.

Fashion, it was seen, rewarded the brave who evolved on every runway and in the front row.
