Delhi-NCR can expect to witness the maximum number of weddings taking place in the city on the auspicious day of Dev Uthani Ekadashi. This is considered to be the most pious day for Hindu weddings and is on November 12 this year. The whole situation has resulted in a crazy wedding rush in the NCR region.
The winter is knocking on the door for Delhi people and so is the great Indian wedding season. November 12 this year is the day when the Shubh Muhurat Saaya begins this winter, which is why would-be brides and grooms and their families are rushing through wedding preparations all over the city. Expect a lot of traffic jams on the day as well as sightings of dhol and baaraat while travelling through the city. Experts in the wedding industry are expecting at least 48,000 weddings on Nov 12.

November 12 is also being favoured for weddings by astrologers all over. This day is not only the beginning of Shubh Muhurat Saaya but also the Dev Uthani Ekadashi or Prabodhini Ekadashi. The muhurat is also called abhuj, which means it’s so auspicious that there is no need for consultation with a pandit. One can get married at any time of the day without any additional puja or rectification. This day is considered so pious for Hindu weddings as it’s believed that God Vishnu wakes up on this day after four months. One can plan their wedding according to Hindu panchang irrespective of their kundalis and planetary placements. Mangliks too can get married on this day.
