The third stop in the fashion week season was the Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 25 held from 17th to 23rd September 2024 in Milan, one of the four fashion capitals of the world. The esteemed week served fashion enthusiasts with new fashion trends and a look at their favourite icons and designers on the ramp. With new themes, memorable collections and extravagant celebrations the Milan Fashion Week maintained its emphasis on the fashion world this year as well. To keep you updated with the fashionable celebrity sightings and eccentric designer collections seen throughout the week, team Wedding Affair has compiled the highlights of Milan Fashion Week 2024 below.
The Sustainable Diesel
For the Spring/Summer 25 showcase, Diesel remained rooted in denim. The popular brand featured more than 70 looks in their showcase all made from 15 tons of denim scraps that will be reused and repurposed. “There is beauty in waste, in what is distressed and destroyed. It’s in the circularity of denim waste, and into the distressing that we build into the collection. This is the disruption of Diesel: we are pushing for circularity in our production as hard as we push the elevation of design,” said Glen Martens, Diesel’s creative director.
Giorgio Armani’s 90 years
Having celebrated his 90th birthday in July, designer Giorgio Armani embraced the concept of time in his show, ‘Future Perfect’. While the womenswear featured an array of wide trousers, long skirts, coats and parkas, the menswear modelled the classic linen jumpsuits, loose trousers and blazers.
Madonna for Dolce & Gabbana
Dolce & Gabbana’s collection was one of the most talked about collections of the week. And, it was all because of Madonna. The designers unveiled a collection inspired and dedicated to the singing icon with her in attendance. On cue, the models wore iconic Madonna outfits with iconic bra bustiers and other trends popularised by her.
Bottega Veneta Brings Back Childhood
If you remember stealing clothes from your parents’ wardrobe and styling them in 10 different ways, then the Bottega Veneta collection for Milan Fashion Week SS25 is a must-see for you. Oversized ensembles, fringes, creased layering and packed lunch bags were some of the highlights of this nostalgic showcase.

Gucci’s Casual Grandeur
Gucci’s collection ‘Casual Grandeur’ at the Milan Fashion Week 2024 was a sum of the creative director Sabato De Sarno’s obsessions like leather, 60’s silhouette, lingerie, and Gucci’s archives. Therefore, the ramp was filled with models wearing A-line silhouettes, florals and big glasses bringing back the fashion of the bygone times.
Celebrity Sightings
The Milan Fashion Week 2024 became a hotspot for celebrities attending the various showcases in designer ensembles. While some such as Madonna, Jacob Elordi, Kendall Jenner, Dakota Johnson, Jin, Nicola Coughlan and Vogue Editor Anna Wintour could be seen in the front row, others like Irina Shayk, Naomi Campbell and Gigi Hadid were on the ramp.
