The 2005 hit film Bunty Aur Babli is getting a sequel and we can’t contain our excitement. Bunty Aur Babli 2 was officially announced and this time it will cast actors Siddhart Chaturvedi of Gully Boy fame and debutant Sharvari Wagh in the lead role. YRF took to social media sites like Twitter and Instagram to announce the big news. The film will be set in current times.
Rani Mukherjee and Abhishek Bacchan were roped in to play the role of older Bunty and Babli, but things didn’t really work out with the latter. But worry not guys, we’ll be seeing another very famous pair taking its place. Rani Mukherjee will be paired opposite her former co-star, Saif Ali Khan. The duo had earlier done films together like Hum Tum and Ta Ra Rum Pum. We are all set to witness the chemistry of this pair again on screen.
“It’s a completely rebooted sequel and is set in today’s time. It is a fantastic script that hooked me instantly. It is an out-and-out entertainer for the entire family to sit and enjoy and this is what I loved and connected with. Also, it’s a new role for me, new language and milieu and that’s what I really look for in a script. I also love the dynamics between the originals and the new Bunty Babli in the film. It’s fresh, hilarious and extremely engaging. Rani and I have always had a lot of fun working with each other and I’m looking forward to our creative collaboration again” said Saif who is excited to be a part of this project.
The film takes a leap of 10 years. The Varun Sharma directed movie will be produced by Aditya Chopra and has already started with the shoot. We are all eagerly waiting to witness the energy of the new couple, Siddharth Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh in Bunty Aur Babli 2 and how well Saif portrays the role of a con man alongside Rani Mukherjee.
