Asur: Welcome To Your Dark Side

Asur is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language crime thriller web series directed by Oni Sen and produced by Tanveer Bookwala (Ding Entertainment). For the video on demand platform Voot. The series stars Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti. Since, the series is set in current times and revolves around serial killings. As a result, the acclaimed actor Arshad Warsi made his web debut in this series. Set in the backdrop of the mystical city of Varanasi. Asur follows Nikhil Nair, a forensic-expert-turned-teacher. He returns to his roots at the Central Bureau of Investigation. Along with his former mentor Dhananjay Rajpoot, finds himself caught in a cat-and-mouse game with a brutal serial killer. Hence, the webseries is blend of suspense, mythology and solving the murders of some people totally unrelated.

Paatalok

Paatal Lok is an Indian Hindi-language crime thriller webseries which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 15 May, 2020. It is produced by Clean Slate Films. And stars seasoned actors Jaideep Ahlawat, Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Ishwak Singh, and Abhishek Banerjee. The much-hyped teaser was released on 27 April while the trailer was out on 5 May. Loosely based on Tarun Tejpal’s 2010 novel The Story of My Assassins. The series is about a disillusioned cop who lands the case of an assassination attempt gone wrong. A police-based investigative thriller inspired by the traditional concepts of Svarga, Dharti and Paatal, as metaphors for the different classes of India and the four estates. Sudip Sharma began writing Paatal Lok in the beginning of 2017. The series has been shot in 110 cities in India.

Betaal

Betaal is an Indian zombie horror webseries based in a remote village that serves as the battleground between East India Company Army officer Lt. Col John Lynedoch. As a result, his battalion of zombie redcoats from the Indian Rebellion of 1857, and the fictional CIPD force. Henceforth, the series is written and directed by Patrick Graham and co-directed by Nikhil Mahajan. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. The web series stars Vineet Kumar Singh and Aahana Kumra in significant roles. It is released on Netflix, thus making it the second collaboration between the production house and Netflix

Special Ops is an Indian espionage thriller webseries created by Neeraj Pandey for Disney+Hotstar’s label Hotstar Specials. With Kay Kay Menon leading the cast. Neeraj Pandey along with Shivam Nair directed the series with Pandey’s Friday Storytellers attached as production house which premiered on 17 March, 2020. Thus, the series follows Himmat Singh (Menon) of Research and Analysis Wing who draws similar patterns in terrorist attacks and is convinced a single person is behind all the attacks. Hence, his task force team of five agents living in various parts of the world aim to catch the mastermind. Overall the story is based on the inspiration taken from Nineteen Years of national significant events. Henceforth, the story is inspired by several espionage missions undertaken by India in the last two decades.

Panchayat

Panchayat is an Indian comedy-drama webseries on Amazon Prime Video produced by TVF. It captures the journey of an engineering graduate Abhishek Tripathi, who for lack of a better job option joins as secretary of a panchayat office in the remote village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh. As a result, stuck between crazy villagers and a difficult village lifestyle Abhishek starts his job with the sole motivation of getting out of there as soon as possible. For which he even prepares for the Common Admission Test. This critically acclaimed web series features Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta.
