One of the most eligible bachelors of the Bollywood industry Ranbir Kapoor is celebrating his 38th birthday today. Known for his acclaimed performances in various films like Barfi, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Sanju, the actor is always praised for his excellent acting chops. Wedding Affair brings to you five of Ranbir’s films that shouldn’t be missed at any cost.

Rockstar

Ranbir hit jackpot with Imitiaz Ali’s Rockstar. Kapoor cemented his position as one of the finest actors with this outing. Even though Rockstar was released in 2011, it is still known as one of the most successful Ranbir Kapoor movies. He played Janardhan ‘Jordan’ Jakhar, a Delhi boy who dreams of being a rockstar. He gets a life changing advice that to be the biggest artiste of his time, he needs to get his heart broken in love. Inspired by the advice, Jordan tries with all his might and falls in love with Nargis Fakhri’s Heer. Ranbir shifts effortlessly through Janardhan to Jordan.

Barfi!

In this Anurag Basu project, Ranbir plays a deaf and mute man who fails in love but wins at life with his kind heart. When his girlfriend gets married to another, he finds an unlikely companion in an autistic woman, played by Priyanka Chopra. Together, they strike a relationship that is affectionate and unnamed.

Tamasha

Ved (Ranbir Kapoor) and Tara (Deepika Padukone) meet while both are holidaying in Corsica. They connect almost instantly and to make things much more exciting, they chose not to reveal their real identities to each other. Ved poses as Don and Tara turns into Mona Darling. They later meet in Delhi by chance and reveal their real identities. Tara is taking care of her father’s real estate business and Ved is a product manager. He doesn’t have that much of a vibrant personality in real life and follows a boring everyday routine, never deviating from it. They start to date but she isn’t happy with him and rejects him when he proposes to her. That triggers a mental disturbance in him and he loses his job thanks to his increasingly erratic behaviour.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

In Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Kapoor played Kabir, who can have the world in the palm of his hands if he wanted to. He travelled the world for what was his dream job and told himself that home is wherever his camera took him. But when true love struck his heart, all his ideas of the perfect life came crumbling down. This is a fun and happy-go-lucky flick that you would certainly love to watch. The romantic comedy stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

The film is narrated in the flashback by Ayan Sanger (Ranbir Kapoor), a singer who has newly acquired fame with his non-filmy songs. A few years ago in London, he met Alizeh Khan (Anushka Sharma), by chance and both immediately connected. He begins to love her but she only considers him a friend. They spend some time in Paris but the status quo remains the same. Alizeh reconciles with her boyfriend and later marries him, much to Ayan’s disappointment. Meanwhile, he meets another woman, Saba Taliyar Khan (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), a poet. He meets Saba’s ex-husband in a gallery, who tells him that one-sided love isn’t a weakness but can serve as strength.

The actor will soon be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra.
