A-list celebrities from diverse disciplines gathered to attend the event. Alia Bhatt, who attended the event for the first time this year, wore a gorgeous white custom bride dress adorned with 100,000 pearls. The diva was seen embracing her inner princess and grabbing attention as she made her way down the red carpet in an ensemble by fashion designer Prabal Gurung. Prabal Gurung himself was dressed in a fitted white suit for the occasion. Isha Ambani, a businesswoman and patron of the arts, attended the gala event wearing a black sari-style gown also by Prabal Gurung. Choupette the fluffy Birman cat, a favourite of Karl Lagerfeld’s, was invited to the Met Gala but was unable to attend this red-carpet event. Nevertheless, the feline served as the inspiration for various looks at the event. Doja Cat donned an Oscar de la Renta couture dress with feline prosthetics affixed to her face, drawing influence from both her name and the theme. She overtook social media with her “meow” conversation with Emma Chamberlain. Jared Leto also wore a big white cat costume as the mascot to pay homage to Lagerfeld’s recognized white cat and to bring feline flair to the event. At the event, “Old Town Road” rapper Lil Nas X also paid homage to the most well-known cats in the fashion world. He came coated in 218,784 round flatback Swarovski crystals from head to toe, and his silver body paint was covered in additional pearls and crystals, giving him an alien appearance as he walked the carpet.
Mommy-to-be Karlie Kloss and Serena Williams flaunted their baby bumps in style at the gala event. The night before the event, Karlie Kloss gave an interview for a livestream at the venue, declaring her pregnancy with a second child. At the event, she wore a black column gown featuring beautiful pearl necklaces with matching beading across the waist. Serena Williams said that there are “three of us” when she arrived with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, to announce her pregnancy. On the Met Gala red carpet in 2023, bridal fashion was on exhibit.
