‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ actress Parineeti Chopra married politician and Member of the Aam Aadmi Party, Raghav Chadha on September 24th, 2023 against the beautiful backdrop of ultra-luxurious The Leela Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The ‘Ishaqzaade’ actress and the youngest Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Punjab had been dating for a while before they got hitched in an intimate royal ceremony in Udaipur. The wedding saw big names of many industries blessing the duo in love – Delhi Chief Minister – Arvind Kejriwal, celebrity fashion designer – Manish Malhotra, and tennis player – Sania Mirza, among many others. The royal wedding was kept under wraps with a ‘no-phone, non-disclosure policy’ signed by the attendees.
The Engagement
The couple got engaged on May 13, 2023, in Kapurthala House Delhi. The duo exchanged their rings amidst an awe-inspiring set-up with classy white details. The ceremony was filled with love, laughter, emotions and loads of dancing. Parineeti adorned a rose-pink kurta set by Manish Malhotra which was accentuated by subtle pearl details. She paired her elegant outfit with a statement maang tikka and heavy polki earrings from Manish Malhotra’s jewellery collection. Raghav Chadha stayed true to his minimal and elegant style and wore an ivory achkan for the engagement ceremony. The couple capped off the engagement ceremony on an auspicious note by seeking blessings of God and performing ardās at Golden Temple, Punjab.
The Pre-Wedding
For the pre-wedding rituals, the couple chose a ‘not-so-traditional’ route and hosted a Chadha-Chopra War which included fun games and cricket matches. A close friend of Chadha, cricketer and Member of Rajya Sabha, Harbhajan Singh was also seen enjoying the game session. Chopra wore an orange tee with Bride and Chadha donned a blue T-shirt with Groom written on it respectively. For the haldi ceremony, the actress ditched the usual yellow colour and wore a fuchsia pink indo-western outfit while the AAP MP wore a cream colour kurta. She kept her tresses open and adorned a white matha patti and matching statement earrings. The couple’s faces were smeared with pristine haldi as they posed with their near & dear ones.
The Wedding
Posting on social media and making their gushing love official, the couple blushed in love and wrote “From the very first chat at the breakfast table, our hearts knew. Been waiting for this day for a long time. So blessed to finally be Mr and Mrs! Couldn’t have lived without each other…Our forever begins now…” Dressed in an embroidered ecru-coloured Manish Malhotra lehenga the bride opted for pared-back makeup for a day wedding. From minimal mehendi to muted makeup and flowy hair—the bride embraced the less-is-more approach in every facet. For jewellery, the bride adorned the resplendent emerald jewellery and maang tikka in dual shades. Raghav complemented the charisma of his bride with an equally stylish choice – a pristine ivory sherwani designed by Pawan Sachdeva.
