Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have to ‘indefinitely’ postpone their summer wedding plans, as they recently announced.  The decision came as the world remains locked down due to the global pandemic of COVID-19. They said that “the timing was not right” for their grand summer destination wedding in Italy. The 51-year-old singer spoke on her disappointment to postpone their nuptials. She shared on a  video chat on the “Today Show” on Tuesday. “I’m a little heartbroken because we did have some great plans but I’m also like, you know what? God has a bigger plan so we just have to wait and see,” she said.

“There’s no planning right now. You just have to kind of wait and see how this all plays out,” she explained. “It’s disappointing on one level, you know, after the Super Bowl and after [filming] “World of Dance” … I planned to take time off, which is what we’re doing, kind of right now. But at the same time, you know, we had a lot of plans for this summer and this year but, everything’s kinda on hold right now.”

Their Plans

Rodriguez proposed to Lopez in March 2019 while the couple was on vacation, and it looks like a year was a long-enough wait for them to get hitched. Jennifer Lopez has been looking forward to the wedding since then. According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, this year, the couple “will be getting married this summer.”

“They have been struggling for weeks over this decision, but with no return to normalcy in the near future, the couple felt postponing the wedding was the safest and smartest choice,” a source had informed E! News. “Guests have recently been notified that the wedding will not be happening in late summer as anticipated.”

For now, Jennifer Lopez remains hopeful of the plans the future holds for them. She is unsure although, of how that is going to turn out. “But at the same time, you know, we had a lot of plans for this summer and this year. But everything’s kind of on hold right now,” she added on the show.
