The fourth day of India Couture Week 2019 saw numerous unique and exquisite ensembles as the designer Sulakshana Monga showcased her collection ‘2019 Varanasi collection’. Actress Malaika Arora turned showstopper for the ace designer.

She wore an elegant lehenga choli with a trail and a netted dupatta. She complemented the look with emerald drop earrings and necklace. A loose bun enhanced her aura to the hilt.

“It’s a real pleasure walking for Sulakshana. I know her work. I am really glad that I could be here tonight. It is a really beautiful collection,” the actress told the media in a press conference post the show.

“They are the ones who work for us tirelessly behind the scenes and I think credit is due to them. We may have a sense of fashion but it is they who put it all together,” she further added.

The 2019 Varanasi collection was eccentric and opulent at the same time. It reflected the culture found in the ghats of Varanasi and the traditions of India. “The collection brings out Indian heritage and culture through colours. We have used seven colours in the collection. Embroidery techniques have been contemporized and we have used nakshi, dabka, sequins, Swarovski crystals, ghungroos, feathers, raffia and lace to make our garments look exclusive and extravagant.” said the designer Sulakshana Monga.
