Television actress Asha Negi has ended almost a year’s speculation and confirmed her break-up with her long-time boyfriend of six years Rithvik Dhanjani. However, she said that though they were no longer together, she will always have love and compassion for him.
In a recent interview with a news portal, Asha said, “People fall apart, relationships fall apart. But the main thing in life is that you have love and compassion for the person and that never dies.” She did not divulge details of what led to the break-up and said, “I would like to say that (respect and compassion) will always be there. I don’t want to talk so much about my personal life.”
Rithvik and Asha met on the sets of Ekta Kapoor’s show ‘Pavitra Rishta’. As a result, it was not love at first sight for them. It was only after spending a lot of time on the sets of their show that their friendship blossomed into something more. Hence, they began dating in 2013. A few down the line after their relationship became public, the duo participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye 6 and were declared the winners.
Rithvik and Asha were in a relationship of over six years and it’s only last year that trouble started brewing. The two, who otherwise shared a lot of posts with each other on social media, stopped putting pictures together. According to reports, “Earlier, they would often hang out with their friends, but Asha stopped doing it about a year ago, barring special occasions. Something was amiss in their relationship for quite some time. In fact, both knew that the relationship was over long before they decided to move on. It looks like they outgrew each other.”
The source added, “Having said that, they have handled the situation maturely. Both of them haven’t told their friends, but they are aware of it. However, they don’t question them on their relationship status.” Reports of their break-up began doing the rounds last month. What added fuel to the fire was a cryptic quote shared on his Instagram stories days after the reports surfaced. “Nothing should go back to normal. Normal wasn’t working. If we go back to the way things were, we will have lost the lesson. May we rise up and do better,” the quote read.
On the other hand, Asha Negi has decided to take a break from her social media account. Like many other celebrities who go off Instagram for a bit to cleanse their mind, the actress has done the same. She wrote alongside her post, “Switch off to switch on. See you all in few days #socialmediadetox.” In her post, she has specified she is taking a week long break. Take a look. While Rithvik and Asha remained silent after the news of their parting ways started doing the rounds, they almost confirmed the suspicion by sharing cryptic stories on Instagram, hinting all was not well between them.
On the work front, Asha is currently being seen in the web series Baarish 2, ópposite Sharman Joshi.
