The blue city on the outskirts of Thar hosted a confluence of the nonpareil artistes from the global wedding planner industry. Theme Weavers Designs in association with Taj presented the first edition of the Royal Rendezvous in an endeavour to project Jodhpur, Rajasthan and India as preferred locations for destination weddings. Under the aegis of His Highness Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Mewar- Jodhpur, the event took place at the luxurious Umaid Bhawan Palace from 31 March-2 April 2019 of which Wedding Affair was a media associate.
Royal Rendezvous’ five-year vision aims to present some of India’s magnificent palace hotels to a carefully curated guest delegation that boasts of promotes the strength each city has to offer, through its local artisans and talent, which will add a unique flavour of the destination. The only through-invite event had the privilege to welcome Preston Bailey, the celebrated planner, designer par excellence with some of the most breathtaking installations for world’s top celebrities and corporate events to his credit. Other esteemed professionals form the event and wedding planner industry also graced the occasion.
Day one began with transferring the guests to Umaid Bhawan Palace post their arrival in Jodhpur and greeting them a with traditional Rajasthani custom, followed by a welcome lunch at Rajput and Mughal architectural masterpiece, Taj Hari Mahal serving haute global cuisine and local delicacies.
