Sabyasachi

“Growing up, I was fascinated by the nightlife in Calcutta. The legendary bars and restaurants on Park Street—Trincas, Blue Fox, Peter Cat, Mocambo, and the groovy nightclub at the Oberoi, Pink Elephant. Calcutta had a truly cosmopolitan atmosphere, where every night glamour came out in its full glory. For me, the standouts were the women with heavily-kohled eyes and lacquering in hair. Also, wearing glittering saris with sexy sleeveless blouses and handcrafted-Bengali diamond jewellery. These probably drew inspiration from Aparna Sen, and Sharmila Tagore in An Evening in Paris. In this image, there are the brand’s iconic ‘Aakash-tara’ saris. Hence, these are completely hand-embroidered using zardozi technique on the finest of chiffons, in an arresting pop of colours.”

Anita Dongre

“Twirls of Timelessness. A handcrafted essay of ancient heritage told through our signature gota patti work on a bed of pink. Ready-To-Own Bougainvillea Lehenga”. Anita Dongre’s aesthetics are all about pastels, feminine hues and local Indian craftworks. This delicate bridal lehenga imbibes the vibes of the modern Indian bride whose discerning choices make her stand out in the crowd!

Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

“HEARTS AFIRE! Setting white afire with this organza skirt featuring bold heart motifs, expertly appliqued using silk chamois and gold and silver abla. The bridal skirt pairs well with a statement hearts blouse encrusted with gold and silver bugle beads and crystals making for scintillating beauty at its most dramatic.” This one is a white piece truly central to what the designers’ work body has represented throughout these years. Also, they have always loved white and white is the mainstay of the brand. The designers also drew inspiration from a lot by ladies like Meena Kumari, Nargis Dutt and how they wore white. Also, it’s so versatile as a colour and you can’t go wrong with white.

Falguni Shane Peacock

designers“The wedding day is one of the most special days in a bride’s life. But for FSP bride Aashna Mansharamani @aashnamanshu, an intimate wedding ceremony during the quarantine made it all the more special. The gorgeous bride hence was seen wearing a dusty pink Falguni Shane Peacock bridal lehenga with chrome appliqué, as she tied the knot with her beau Rishabh in the presence of their families. Also, Aashna’s bespoke lehenga was styled with an intricately embroidered, cropped corset blouse with mirror work details and a semi-sheer dupatta encrusted with crystals.”
