Monsoon is here in all its glory and shine. This season brings in new zest and zeal in the surroundings after the scorching heat. This best time of the year brings sudden change in the weather giving birth to many bacterial infections. Hello Acne! Humidity, dampness and the sticky heat together pushes in pimples onto the skin. Wedding Affair brings to a few things you need to keep in mind to combat acne.

An Effective Cleanser

Exposure to such sudden climatic changes during monsoon leads to birth of germs on skin and hence acne. As a result, it is important to cleanse your face at least two times a day especially after you return home after staying long hours outdoors. This will keep acne miles away from your skin. But try to keep yourself away from excessive cleansing. It can strip-off natural moisture of your skin leaving it dry.

Use That Sunscreen

No sun doesn’t mean no sunscreen. The harmful UV radiation can even penetrate through clouds. Apply a good sunscreen always before stepping outdoors. As it is recommended, reapply your sunscreen after every two hours. You can also use SPF in mist format to keep your skin protected from UVA and UVB rays. SPF mist is travel friendly, effective and can be used anytime even on top of your make-up.

Moisturise Your Skin Frequently

In monsoon moisturise your skin regularly to keep the outer layer of the skin properly hydrated which will leave it feeling soft and supple. Fluctuating rainy days makes the skin dry, sometimes oily too and therefore itchy. Use a gel-based moisturizer compatible with your skin. The lightweight consistency of gel will leave your skin feel hydrated.

Opt For No Make-up Look

For achieving the lit-from-within glow, the most important thing is to stay away from heavy make-up. Always prep your skin with a matte primer before you begin to paint your canvas.

Don’t Touch Your Face

To keep bacteria at bay during monsoon, wash your hands while doing an application on your face. Touching your face, especially the infected area will spread bacteria that can cause more acne.

Increase Your Water Intake

During monsoon drink lots of water to keep the skin hydrated and to wash off the toxins from the body. This is probably the best thing you can do for your skin. Drink up your water girl!
