On July 22, Marriot International presented their collection with the designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, for their brand “Shaadi by Marriot” at the Wedding Show of the Year, with Sonam Kapoor as their Showstopper.
Present at the event were eminent faces from the industry like, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Nanda, Nitasha Nanda, Ridhima Kapoor, Pinky Reddy, Amrita Singh and Sara Ali Khan, Pernia Qureshi, Mandira Bedi, Mandira Kapur, Shalini Passi, Sonia Pasi, Jayati Puri, Shobhana Bhartia, Amrita Bakshi, Shahnaz Husain, Sandeep Gupta, Rani Kapur, Swarnim Garg, Manju Garg, Vartika Garg, Kiran Chopra and many more.

The show was divided into a five-part fashion sequence, which presented the designer’s bridal couture collection for the season. The designs were an amalgamation of both traditional and contemporary. They represented each wedding ceremony, starting from the engagement, then haldi, and then the final wedding ceremony.
Adding to the splendor of the night was the showstopper, actress Sonam Kapoor. She walked the ramp, wearing a ‘Burano’ bridal lehenga which was inspired by the Majesty of Venice’. It had intricate embroidery and crystals from Swarovski, encrusted in it.

To represent the wedding theme, the venue was decorated with the colours white, cream, and gold. There was a customized menu for each ceremony with locally inspired, international cuisines. Contemporary dancers were seen performing alongside the models, as they walked down the ramp.
The show also saw the launch of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla fine jewellery Collection. The collection was designed by the designers itself, and crafted by the renowned jeweller, Saboo.
