Eyeliner is a trusted aid to those who want to highlight their eyes without going overboard. From pencil eyeliners to gel or liquid eyeliners, they come in all shapes and sizes. Here are 5 eyeliner tricks that will make your eyes look bigger and help in achieving the perfect shape.

Starting out on a canvas of dark circles and uneven skin tone is a big no no. Dab on a lightweight eye cream to hydrate. Focus only on the area under the eyes, not lids. Apply a color corrector to neutralize dark circles. Get plenty of sleep to reduce puffiness around your eyes. Also, get your brows in shape.

Avoid the smoky eye look as they will make your eyes appear smaller by making them fenced. Apply eyeliner only to the outer ¾ of your eyelid. Avoid lining the inner corner of your eye. When applying eyeliner on your lower lashes, apply it just below the lash line and not inside the rim.

Line the inner rim of your lower lid with white or a light color. It makes eyes look bigger and shapely.

Wing your eyeliner. Extend the eyeliner beyond the outer corners of your eyes. This line should move upwards so as to create an illusion of a long eyelash. This technique needs patience and practice. So be careful while doing this. You can also use the double liner technique. Draw a classic cat-eye shape on the top lid with a dark color. Switch to a lighter shade and sketch a thin line under the lower lashes just at the end of the eye.

Adding white eye shadow or eyeliner to the inner corner of your eyes will bring more light into your eyes and produce the effect of larger-looking eyes.
